☆ 1986 – it’s the first year when Paris-Bercy – the biggest indoor event of the regular season – was introduced to the calendar, therefore I included the years 1986-89 because they were basically the same as the 90s.
Below some vital notes:
Forest Hills, played before Roland Garros, was more prestigious than Hamburg (this event was moved from Autumn ’86 to Spring ’87) while Stratton Mountain, played before the US Open, was more or less at the level of the Canadian Open and Cincinnati. Paris & Stockholm were played the same week in 1987, the same year La Quinta moved to Indian Wells within the Californian state while Hamburg moving a few months backwards in the calendar, became bigger in 1987 than it was in 1986
