Western & Southern Open, the first professional tennis tournament played in six months due to a break caused by COVID-19 (with empty stands). The event was held in New York (Flushing Meadows) instead of Cincinnati. This marked the fifth time since the tournament began in 1899 that it was not held in the Cincinnati area. Indianapolis hosted the event in 1914, 1917 and 1919, and in 1920 the tournament was held in Fort Wayne. Djokovic trailed 0:2* in the decider quickly improving to 4:2, serving for a match he withstood a break point with a baseline rally.
