Two years later, Becker loses another Monte Carlo final in four sets being relatively close to win each of the lost sets (to Sergi Bruguera). The 19-year-old Argentinian was 31st in the world at the time. “It’s good to get these lessons out of the way,” said Wilander [2] after being destroyed by Mancini in a style he didn’t experience since the times he was a teenager. “It makes you realize you’re not there yet.” A couple of weeks later Mancini triumphs in Rome to become a main favorite to win the French Open!
