  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 34-37, 26-17, 31-23 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    24 % Korda – 21 of 86
    50 % Krajicek – 41 of 82

Super fast no-deuce final, and quite bizarre scoreline given how well Krajicek [15] was serving. Simply the Dutchman had three worse service games among 15, and Korda mercilessly punished Krajicek’s second serves with forehand passing-shots. From the back of the court the Czech [17] was superior off both wings, there was only one occurrence that Krajicek sniffed a break point chance as he sneaked to the net at 3:4* (30/15) in the 3rd set; he played a good volley, but Korda responded with a perfect down-the-line forehand pass… In the tie-break Krajicek had a set point at 6:5*, but Korda got a point with a sliced service winner on backhand, and converted his first set point as Krajicek netted a casual volley at 6:7. The left-handed 29-year-old Czech got his breaks at 0:0 and 4:2 in the 2nd set, and 2-all in the 3rd.

Korda’s route to his 8th title:
    2 Chris Woodruff 6-3, 6-3
    3 Cedric Pioline 6-3 ret.
    Q Marcelo Rios 6-3, 6-4
    S Patrick Rafter 6-4, 7-6(3)
    W Richard Krajicek 7-6(6), 6-2, 6-4
