   The 19-year-old Becker served 32 aces in the tournament (6.4), was broken 3 times in 54 service games. He said about Edberg, whom had he defeated seventh time in a row: “I’m able to read his serve very well. I think I could have beaten him easier today.” The final lasted 2 hours 5 minutes. Later that day, Becker played also in doubles final alongside Eric Jelen. The West Germans lost 4-6, 6-7 to French pair – Forget/Noah.
