  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 35-25, 42-43 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    54 % Ivanisevic – 36 of 66
    32 % Edberg – 26 of 79

Finally, in their 10th meeting Ivanisevic [7] wins a tie-break against Edberg [3] – the Swede had won their six previous tie-breaks. Even though the Croat was ranked lower and Edberg played at home, Ivanisevic was a favorite to win that contest having won all their three matches played in 1992, including a recent demolition in Sydney. Ivanisevic played his best point at the net at *4:5 in the tie-break, then he saved a set point with a powerful serve (Edberg’s string gone). At 8-all Edberg perhaps served an ace, but the linesman called it out, and on the second serve Edberg sent a conservative ball long. Ivanisevic converted his third match point with a slice serve to Edberg’s backhand.
