   Very long final considering three sets on grass, the match lasted 3 hours 9 minutes (the last & longest game of the match: 11 minutes – the serving Murray led 40/0, then he needed to save three break points) which is the longest three-set Grand Slam final in history. In the Wimbledon ’99 final, Sampras defeated Agassi in 1 hour 55 minutes when they played just one game fewer than Murray-Djokovic. The Serbian, highest ranked player in the world, led 4:1* in the 2nd & 4:2* in the 3rd set. “Winning Wimbledon is the pinnacle of tennis,” Murray [2] stated, “I worked so hard in that last game. It’s the hardest few points I’ve had to play in my life. I don’t know how it will change my life. I hope not. I hope not too much. But the atmosphere today was different to what I’ve experienced in the past.”
