  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 40-30, 40-37, 34-29 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    23 % Murray – 25 of 105
    16 % Djokovic – 17 of 105

Very long final considering grass, the match lasted 3 hours 9 minutes (the last & longest game of the match: 11 minutes – the serving Murray led 40/0, then needed to save three break points) which is the longest 3-set Grand Slam final in history. In the Wimbledon ’99 final, Sampras defeated Agassi in 1 hour 55 minutes when they played just one game fewer than Murray-Djokovic. The Serbian led 4:1* in the 2nd & 4:2* in the 3rd set. “Winning Wimbledon is the pinnacle of tennis,” Murray said, “I worked so hard in that last game. It’s the hardest few points I’ve had to play in my life. I don’t know how it will change my life. I hope not. I hope not too much. But the atmosphere today was different to what I’ve experienced in the past.”

Murray’s route to this 28th title:
    1 Benjamin Becker 6-4, 6-3, 6-2
    2 Yen-Hsun Lu 6-3, 6-3, 7-5
    3 Tommy Robredo 6-2, 6-4, 7-5
    4 Mikhail Youzhny 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-1
    Q Fernando Verdasco 4-6, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, 7-5
    S Jerzy Janowicz 6-7(2), 6-4, 6-4, 6-3
    W Novak Djokovic 6-4, 7-5, 6-4

    * Murray was four points away from losing to Verdasco
