  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 26-19, 36-32, 31-27 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    32 % Nadal – 29 of 90
    34 % Berdych – 28 of 81

En route to the final Berdych defeated Federer & Djokovic in back-to-back matches! So defeating the three best players of the first two decades of the 21st Century it was a too much demanding task for the Czech… Ugly final, one of those to be quickly forgotten. Berdych put himself 3:2* in front in the 1st set, and from the moment Nadal was leading all the time, serving well and simply waiting for his opponent’s baseline errors – they came at the end of each set, especially at 6:5 in the 2nd set. “It’s more than a dream for me,” Nadal told BBC Sport. “After a difficult year for me, missing the tournament last year, this year I came back and to have this trophy in my hands is more than a dream.”

Nadal’s route to his 41st title:
    1 Kei Nishikori 6-2, 6-4, 6-4
    2 Robin Haase 5-7, 6-2, 3-6, 6-0, 6-3
    3 Philipp Petzschner 6-4, 4-6, 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-3
    4 Paul-Henri Mathieu 6-4, 6-2, 6-2
    Q Robin Soderling 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-1
    S Andy Murray 6-4, 7-6(6), 6-4
    W Tomas Berdych 6-3, 7-5, 6-4
