Edberg played simply perfect tennis in his last two matches of the US Open ’91, Lendl couldn’t do anything, especially as a receiver despite that two weeks before at Long Island in the semifinals he had defeated Edberg 6-3, 6-2. In New York, Edberg took control at *2:3 in the opener winning five straight games. He already led 5:1 in the 2nd set and broke at 3-all in the 3rd set… he fired two aces in the last game.
