  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 26-13, 40-32, 30-25 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    33 % Federer – 27 of 81
    15 % Davydenko – 13 of 85

    # The first of back-to-back US Open semifinals between them. Federer [1] wore a blue shirt and white shorts in both matches, and the scoreline was very similar, just a two-game difference, but in the 2007 semifinal certainly Davydenko [6] looked better, putting himself in a position to win sets 1 and 3. A year before he had no chance whatsoever, from the beginning he seemed deflated after a difficult quarterfinal victory from behind against Haas… Against Federer, the Russian erased a break deficit in the 2nd set, led 5:4 on return, but Federer won three games quickly then, and broke early in the 3rd set too – he lost his serve again, but noone could doubt he had everything under his control, he felt so comfortable on the court that began improvising in the 3rd set.

    Serve & volley: Federer 2/3, Davydenko 1/1

    # Comparison of their two similar US Open semifinals:
    2006: Federer d. Davydenko 6-1, 7-5, 6-4… 1 hour 43 minutes… Total points: 96-70
    2007: Federer d. Davydenko 7-5, 6-1, 7-5… 2 hours 21 minutes… Total points: 116-94
