  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 34-26, 32-21, 35-25 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    29 % Stich – 24 of 82
    19 % Chang – 18 of 91

The 2-hour 5-minute final with surprisingly one-sided scoreline considering Stich’s [15] three tough matches before – but in all those matches that he struggled to break opponents, he faced very good servers… “I tried everything. Lobs, passing shots, attacking, but nothing worked against him,” Chang [6] said after the game. “I guess the 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 score indicates that.” Stich defeated four Top 10ers en route to the title, in this sense it’s the most valuable CGS title of the 90s.

Stich’s road to his 7th title:
    1 Stefan Edberg 7-6(4), 6-7(4), 8-6
    Q Richard Krajicek 7-6(4), 7-5
    S Pete Sampras 7-6(2), 7-6(5), 3-6, 7-6(3)
    W Michael Chang 6-2, 6-3, 6-2
