Points won by each set: [ 29-19, 38-35, 33-27 ]
Points won directly on serve:
50 % Ivanisevic – 45 of 89
33 % Becker – 33 of 92
Their second Wimbledon semifinal (after four years) and there was a moment when a repeat was quite possible – in the 2nd set tie-break Becker [10] led *4:2 (Ivanisevic’s pass) and 6:5 – the Croat fired an ace out-wide. In 1990 the teenage Ivanisevic [5] already possessed very good serve, but I’d say only 75% of the serve he could deliver in the years 1992-1996. In three sets of the Wimbly ’94 semifinal, he allowed Becker to have a break point only serving at 4:2 in the opener.
