Points won directly behind the serve:
26 % Srichaphan – 22 of 82
13 % Nadal – 13 of 100

Nadal’s first pro-tournament on grass (just 5th at the main-level)… The 17-year-old boy from Mallorca [76] wasn’t physically matured yet, and despite good grass-court skills, Srichaphan [11] simply overpowered him with blistering forehands. Moreover, Nadal’s fastest serve 115 mph (185 kph) was barely as fast as Srichaphan’s average 1st serve. Nevertheless the youngster led *4:2 (30/0) in the 2nd set. The Thai got valuable victory because he reached the fourth round at majors for the first time (1st out of three times overall, which is disappointing given his status of a dangerous floater in years 2002-06). “If I want to win more matches,” Nadal said, “I have to develop my serve.” The 24-year-old Srichaphan estimated his opponent: “I think he could be a really top player in the future. I love the way he hits the ball. He’s got a big shot and he’s really quick around the court. If we were playing on clay I think I’d have no chance.”
