Points won directly behind the serve:
32 % Rafter – 54 of 167
25 % Agassi – 38 of 152

An entertaining 3-hour 18-minute classic confrontation between two completely different styles: Agassi was almost glued to the baseline throughout the match, 2 out of his 3 volley winners come from drive-volleys off no-man’s-land, while Rafter stayed on the baseline behind his serves just a couple of times in the opener. The Australian led 4:3* (40/15) in the 2nd set. He got the decisive break leading 3:2 in the 5th set, obtaining two important points with his two best backhands of the day.
