   Dolgopolov obtained 21 points on serve in a row between 3:0* in the 2nd and 2-all in the 3rd set! He was actually winning every point in the last two sets when his first serve found its way to the service boxes, so the spectators gathered at El Ágora, could expect a final set tie-break. It didn’t happen though; in the 10th game of the final set, the Ukrainian made three consecutive baseline errors leading 30/15 and it was over – Ferrer celebrated his third Valencia title falling on the court.
   Potentially the strongest version of Ferrer, 30 y.o. at the time: after winning a big final in Valencia (ATP 500), he claimed his career-biggest title in Paris (Masters 1000), then he notched two victories at ‘Masters’, and another two (in vain) during the Davis Cup final – all indoors; so he won 14 out of 15 matches against good or very good players (in the meantime he was beaten only by his worst nemesis – Federer)!
