  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 53-49, 27-20, 28-19, 31-25 |
Point won directly behind the serve:
    22 % Agassi – 25 of 111
    18 % Becker – 26 of 141

The first of four Grand Slam semifinals between these two. In the 1st set of that 3-hour 4-minute encounter, the 20-year-old Agassi [4] wasted five set points: one at 5:4*, another at 6:5 (his two errors on those first set points) and three more in the tie-break (6:4 – Agassi attacked the net twice, 9:8) which he lost 10/12. The defending champion, Becker [2] had a game point at 3-all in the 2nd set and Agassi took the control ever since. There were as many as six breaks of serve within eight games of the 3rd set. In the 4th set, from 4:3* (15/40) Agassi got the decisive break producing four consecutive winners. Becker had a very bad serving day generally speaking… It was their fifth meeting, Becker led 3:2 afterwards, ultimately if was finished with 10-4 for the American.
