   Their only Grand Slam final played on clay. In the 4th set Connors led *4:2 (40/0), then saved four set points in the tie-break (4:6, 7:8 & 8:9) – 3 out of 4 set points Connors saved with the help of overheads, in the tie-break he approached the net as many as 11 times (!) – Borg just once… The Swede lost that 3-hour 8-minute final despite winning two points more (143-141) which is unusual with a scoreline of this type.
