  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 31-29, 39-45, 34-25, 22-30, 33-22 |
    Points won directly on serve:
    34 % Agassi – 52 of 152
    33 % Ginepri – 53 of 158

Exceptionally quick match for a 5-setter with a solid number of games (lasted only 2 hours 44 minutes). Decisive break of the 5th set came at 3:2 for Agassi [7], who finished the match with an ace. Agassi’s last advancement to a major final, certainly helped the fact that his twelve years younger compatriot played his fourth consecutive five-set match at the US Open: no-one had done it before. The 23-year-old Ginepri [46], enjoyed the best period of his career in the second half of 2005: he won his biggest title (Indianapolis), and reached three semifinals of prestigious tournaments – Cincinnati, US Open and Madrid – losing every time after competitive matches to the best players in the world (Federer, Agassi & Nadal respectively)…

    Serve & volley: Agassi 0, Ginepri 0
