  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: [ 35-27, 44-35, 30-16 ]
Points won directly behind the serve:
    39 % Hewitt – 35 of 88
    36 % Johansson – 36 of 99

Family business: they were almost like brothers-in-law at the time because Johansson was a fiancé of Hewitt’s sister Jaslyn… A confrontation of the best receiver against the best server at the time (a few years before Isner’s appearance, Karlovic was trying to become an ATP player on regular basis). Hewitt [5] broke in the end of the first two sets and at 4:3 in the 3rd set. The Swede [30] played a good match overall, but completely lost the plot at 3-all in the last set, winning just 1 points while losing 12. Following the defeat to Hewitt, Pim-Pim held his serve in 102 consecutive games (!), losing in the meantime two matches with the same scoreline (6-7, 7-6, 6-7) 🙂
