   Kiefer’s 10th final lost in a row, and the last one in his career (the only one ‘Masters 1000’). He was 31 at the time. In the 2nd set at 2-all, Nadal held after 6 deuces saving three break points. “I win on every surface, no? I win on grass, on hard, on indoor, and on clay too,” Nadal said. “So if I am playing my best tennis I can win on every surface, no?”A time when Nadal was on his way to become the best player in the world for the first time.
