Their third meeting, but the first one when they both were at the top of their games. It was a very tight contest (Courier took the tie-break 7/4) until 3-all in the 2nd set, then the German  won six straight games easily. Courier  was trying everything to level up, he even dived twice (and won a point doing it on the baseline!), he cut from 0:3* to 3:4 (deuce), but then missed his return off Becker’s second serve. A few months later they play an amazing final in Brussels, and Becker wins again dropping the first set 6-7.
