   McEnroe led with a break in both sets, but Borg notched two winning streaks from 2:3 & 3:4 respectively. An interesting situation occurred at 3:2 (15-all) in the opening set as the serving McEnroe made an enormous effort in defense – he lost the point though, and it cost him so much, that in the following game he couldn’t return any of Borg’s first three serves, even though they were just an invitation to play a rally.
