  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 30-18, 38-40, 45-38 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    45 % Soderling – 44 of 96
    31 % Kohlschreiber – 36 of 113

It was a time when Soderling enjoyed the best period of his career (28-4 record between Valencia 2010 & Indian Wells 2011; won four titles)… Kohlschreiber led *3:1 (40/30) in the 3rd set when he sent his FH long. In the tie-break: Soderling 5:2* & 6:4, then the German 7:6*, and the Swede saved the match point with a FH-winner in fifth stroke of the rally. It was a very interesting moment because if he had missed the forehand, it would have been the first H2H in which one player beat the other one three times saving a match point! Three years later it happens between Andreas Seppi & Lleyton Hewitt.

Soderling’s route to his 8th title:
    1 Robin Haase 6-3, 6-2
    2 Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-3, 5-7, 7-6(7) – 1 m.p.
    Q Mikhail Youzhny 6-4, 7-6(5)
    S Viktor Troicki 7-5, 6-4
    W Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3, 3-6, 6-3
