Points won by each set: | 32-22, 33-30 |
Points won directly on serve:
20 % Moya – 11 of 53
18 % Zabaleta – 12 of 64
Zabaleta played the best event of his life in Hamburg ’99 when he was a point away from the title. His second best result is moot; it’s either US Open ’01 quarterfinal or Rome ’04 semifinal, in both events he needed to win four matches – in the United States he had to play “the best of five” which is more challenging, but in Italy he ousted more demanding opponents overall. Moya obtained the decisive breaks at 3:2 in the 1st and 3-all in the 2nd set. He finished the contest with rain.
