That match showed the 20-year-old Djokovic [6] was already at Nadal’s level from the back of the court on clay. The Serb displayed even more varied & attractive style for the fans, attacking to the net and using dropshots, but he was still too fragile and inexperienced to make an upset. He played very good tennis especially in the first two sets (came back from 2:5* 0/30 in the opener), he couldn’t physically withstand Nadal’s firmness in the latter stages of those sets though. In the 1st game of the 3rd set Djokovic showed signs of impatience playing three dropshots (lost all those points), he hadn’t any base at the time to believe he would outplay Nadal [2] in a five-set contest. Nadal raced to a 4:0 lead in the last set very quickly…
