  1. Voo de Mar says:
Stats without the first six games

    Points won by each set: | 34-26, 43-43 |

Lendl and Chang faced each other 4 times in 1992 and even though it was a year when Chang was more successful than Lendl and led 2-1 in their rivalry, the Czechoslovak won all their four matches in straight sets. During the North American swing they played three times within three weeks and only in the second of those 4 meetings of ’92, their encounter was balanced. There was 3-all in the opener when Chang [4] had a double break point. Lendl [7] withstood it and got a warning for taking too much time between the points. He was complaining about that for three minutes and it perhaps distracted Chang who lost 11 points in a row and the set. In the 2nd set Chang led 5:2* as well as 3:1 and 7:6* in the tie-break. Facing the set point, Lendl delivered his fastest serve of the match and converted his second match point approaching the net.
