   Ferreira started the 2nd set trailing 0/40 on serve, but quickly won five straight points and five games in a row, finished the match with an ace out-wide. The fourth and last final in career of the 27-year-old Delaitre [87] (every time he was quickly outplayed in those matches) – the biggest one; prior to the final he won five matches in straight sets, overcoming four solid players of the mid 90s #. Meanwhile the four years younger Ferreira [15], mainly thanks to his formidable forehand, in the state of Indiana began the best period of his career winning 25 out of 27 matches (claimed four hardcourt titles: Indianapolis, Bordeaux, Basel & Tel Aviv). After Indianapolis he lost the US Open third round, captured the Bordeaux title, then helped South Africa to beat Indie on grass in the Davis Cup playoffs abroad (lost a 4th rubber to Paes though); afterwards won two titles within three weeks (indoors & outdoors).
