  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 39-35, 38-36 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    10 % Monaco – 8 of 75
    17 % Haas – 13 of 73

The biggest title in Monaco’s career, who was 27-year-old at the time. The Argentine [14] enjoyed the best period of his tennis life in 2012, and that triumph at the Rothenbaum Tennis Center allowed him to advance to the Top 10 for a while. “It’s amazing [to break the Top 10], it’s a dream come true,” declared Monaco. “I will always remember this great week because it’s very important for me and my team. It was a big goal we had pre-season when we were practising very hard.” He kept his 1st serve at 80% in the final… Haas [49] reached the final in his hometown the only time then, 15 years after his sensational debut in this tournament when he reached the semifinals as a player outside the Top 100 (didn’t play in Hamburg in years 2007-11).

Monaco’s route to his 6th title:
    1 Cedrik-Marcel Stebe 6-4, 3-6, 7-5
    2 Daniel de la Nava 7-6(4), 6-3
    Q Jeremy Chardy 6-3, 7-5
    S Nicolas Almagro 3-6, 6-3, 6-4
    W Tommy Haas 7-5, 6-4

    # Monaco couldn’t be considered as a mentally tough player throughout his career, however, that week in Hamburg everything worked in his favor: he was two points away from losing to Stebe, saved five set points vs De La Nava, a mini-match point vs Almagro and in the final he trailed *1:4 in the 1st & 0:2* (30/40) in the 2nd set.
