Strange match, for almost two hours it looked like Federer [1] was a better player – he was holding without problems and suddenly he lost the last four games of the match. In the 1st set, before the tie-break he had won as many as 7 points more, and led *6:4 in it when Coric [34] played very good forehand forcing an error. On the second set point Coric lost his balance, then Federer was smashing (uncleanly), but it ended up with his volley error. “[During] the whole whole week I was serving really well,” reflected Coric. “I felt confident that I could hold serve and then automatically I can play with less stress.”
Coric’s route to his 2nd title:
1 Alexander Zverev 6-1, 6-4
2 Nikoloz Basilashvili 6-4, 6-2
Q Andreas Seppi 7-5, 6-3
S Roberto Bautista 2-3 ret.
W Roger Federer 7-6(6), 3-6, 6-2
