  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 30-18, 17-26, 37-37 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    26 % Kuerten – 21 of 78
    28 % Henman – 25 of 87

    # One year after they had played very tight 3-set semifinal in Cincinnati, they met on the same court, and again deciding 3rd set tie-break separated them – as opposed to the year 2000, Kuerten had more luck in the end. It was a two-day semifinal. They began at night session but rain forced them to leave the court twice, the second time at 5:1 in the 2nd set; it was already late at night so the officials decided to finish it the following day. Kuerten [1] led *4:2 (deuce) in the decider, but Henman [8] equaled. The last few games were very quick and in the tie-break Kuerten built a 4:1* advantage. Then he led *5:2 and 6:3*. On the second match point Henman made a volley error. The following week Kuerten defeats Henman in the Indianapolis quarterfinal (3-6, 6-1, 7-5) saving four match points.

    Serve & volley: Kuerten 2/3, Henman 11/24

    # Comparison of their two Cincy semifinals:
    2000: Henman d. Kuerten 6-7, 6-4, 7-6… 2 hours 36 minutes… Total points: 126-112… 3 points away
    2001: Kuerten d. Henman 6-2, 1-6, 7-6… 1 hour 46 minutes… Total points: 84-81… 4 points away
