   * In the 2nd set against Millman, Federer trailed *2:3 (0/40); in the final set he had saved five break points in two different games (0:0 & 2:2) before he broke Raonic on his first match point in the last game of the event
   * ATP displayed 21-14 in aces and I wrote it here, yet my calculation was 20-12 (service winners: 23-28)… “It’s a special moment, no doubt about it,” said Federer receiving an award from Laver. “I’ve played a lot of tennis over the years, so to get to 1000 wins tonight really means a lot to me. I’ll never forget this match.”

   “You work hard and prepare hard to play consistently,” says Lendl. “I remember when I played over 100 matches per year in the 1980s and never thought about it. Obviously, getting to 1000 wins is more difficult than it seems. It’s really rare. But I looked at it as a by-product of winning so many matches and being consistent for that long.”
