  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 29-23, 32-37, 46-41 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    43 % Federer – 43 of 100
    37 % Raonic – 40 of 108

    * In the 2nd set against Millman, Federer trailed *2:3 (0/40); in the final set he had saved five break points in two different games (0:0 & 2:2) before he broke Raonic on his first match point in the last game of the event
    * ATP displayed 21-14 in aces and I wrote it here, yet my calculation was 20-12 (service winners: 23-28)… “It’s a special moment, no doubt about it,” said Federer receiving an award from Laver. “I’ve played a lot of tennis over the years, so to get to 1000 wins tonight really means a lot to me. I’ll never forget this match.”

Federer’s 1000th win (& 83rd title). His route to achieve this milestone in Brisbane:
    2 John Millman 4-6, 6-4, 6-3
    Q James Duckworth 6-0, 6-1
    S Grigor Dimitrov 6-2, 6-2
    W Milos Raonic 6-4, 6-7(2), 6-4

    null

11 players to win at least 700 singles matches:
    1. Jimmy Connors – 1253
    2. Ivan Lendl – 1071
    3. Roger Federer – 1000
    4. Guillermo Vilas – 929
    5. John McEnroe – 875
    6. Andre Agassi – 870
    7. Stefan Edberg – 801
    8. Ilie Nastase – 779
    9. Pete Sampras – 762
    10. Boris Becker – 713
    11. Rafael Nadal – 706

“You work hard and prepare hard to play consistently,” says Lendl. “I remember when I played over 100 matches per year in the 1980s and never thought about it. Obviously, getting to 1000 wins is more difficult than it seems. It’s really rare. But I looked at it as a by-product of winning so many matches and being consistent for that long.”
