  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 26-24, 28-24, 26-16 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    34 % Tsitsipas – 27 of 78
    22 % Sinner – 15 of 66

The 20-year-old [10] Sinner’s first Australian Open quarterfinal and an unexpected beat-down because three years older Tsitsipas [4] played a perfect match from start to finish. Already in the 2nd game he delivered a fantastic cross-court forehand on the run and never looked back. In the 2nd set he obtained the break at 1-all and right afterwards the rain fell which forced the officials to halt the match for 20 minutes until the roof was closed, that’s why the set was very long (in fact it lasted 39, not 57 minutes, the match-clock was kept in the activation mode because the players stayed on the court). Sinner began the 3rd set holding, then the Greek easily took another five games. “I tried to focus on my best shots and it paid off more than I thought,” Tsitsipas said in his on-court interview. “I am very, very happy with the way I served today and the way I came in and used my tactics in today’s match structure. Having the crowd support is truly unbelievable.”
