  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: [ 13-27, 35-24, 34-28, 33-22 ]
Points won directly behind the serve:
    31 % Agassi – 32 of 101
    26 % Kafelnikov – 30 of 115

All sets were quite similar in terms of rallies – flat, heavy strokes from both sides in all directions, Agassi [2] simply lost the 1st set quickly because his serve completely deserted him. He significantly improved in this department in the following three sets, and in the 4th set he was perhaps serving better than ever, almost like an ‘all-serve player’: he hit as many as 9 aces in five service games (1, 2, 2, 3, 1)! There was a match point for him at 5:2, but Kafelnikov [3] could’ve counted on a comeback as he created a double break point in game No. 9 – Agassi saved the first one with his last ace, then forced a backhand error… A few months later they will play almost a copy-cat match in the Australian Open final.
