   25 % Nadal – 24 of 94
   30 % Fish – 34 of 110

   Late match on Arthur Ashe Stadium, finished at 2 a.m.. It was the best version of Nadal [1] so Fish [35] needed to play beyond his standard level to have a chance, and he actually did it in the opening set (nine aces). He couldn’t maintain that level for the next three sets, Nadal easily won them (in the 3rd set he broke at 3-all). Three years later Fish plays his third and last major quarterfinal, facing Nadal again. # It seemed that in London it would be a better chance than in New York, but Nadal proved to be stronger again in four-sets.

   # Comparison of their 4-set major quarterfinals:
   US Open 2008: Nadal d. Fish 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2… 2 hours 38 minutes… Total points: 112-92
   Wimbledon 2011: Nadal d. Fish 6-3, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4… 2 hours 53 minutes… Total points: 126-102
