  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 37-27, 34-24 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    36 % Edberg – 21 of 58
    29 % Wheaton – 19 of 64

Edberg [1], the Wimbledon ’90 champion comes back on grass in great fashion, defeating five quality opponents. In the first three matches he is broken five times, but goes through the event not being forced to play at 5-all. The final he opened withstanging a break point, and since then he entirely dominated a fast-serving Wheaton [25]. The American slipped at 2-all in the 2nd set, received a medical time-out. “This is the best I’ve ever played in the run-up to Wimbledon,” Edberg said. “And it’s more enjoyable going to Wimbledon after a good win like this.”

Edberg’s route to his 30th title:
    2 Arnaud Boetsch 6-4, 6-3
    3 Jason Stoltenberg 6-4, 6-4
    Q Pat Cash 6-3, 6-4
    S MaliVai Washington 6-4, 6-2
    W David Wheaton 6-2, 6-3
