  1. Voo de Mar says:
Points won directly behind the serve:
    20 % Djokovic – 13 of 64
    20 % Ferrer – 17 of 85

Ferrer, the defending champion, led 5:3* in both losing sets of the 1-hour 52-minute final (3 points away in 1st, 2 points away in 2nd); earlier in each of them he also led 4:2* (30/15), but I think the best chance to win one of those sets he wasted at 2:0* (40/15) in the 2nd set when lost a point which should have won with a FH-volley – panicked though as the ball hit the net-cord. Djokovic: “Summer was up and down, and now again I’m playing on a very high level and have lots of confidence in myself, in my game. I’m at a good spot at this moment.” Ferrer: “With Nole, if I don’t take my chance, it’s impossible to beat him. In the important moments he’s better than me.“ For the Spaniard it was third consecutive lost final indoors. In March ’15, Djokovic will beat Ferrer once again 7-5, 7-5 (Miami, quarter-final), that time needing one minute more.

Djokovic’s route to his 40th title:
    2 Pierre-Hugues Herbert 7-6(3), 6-3
    3 John Isner 6-7(5), 6-1, 6-2
    Q Stan Wawrinka 6-1, 6-4
    S Roger Federer 4-6, 6-3, 6-2
    W David Ferrer 7-5, 7-5
