  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: [ 22-30, 39-29, 26-15 ]
Points won directly behind the serve:
    35 % Blake – 26 of 73
    34 % Lopez – 30 of 88

It was a time when the 25-year-old Blake [67] finally started to play tennis that had been expecting from him since 2002. Within a year since the title he gained in New Haven, he became a Top 10 player. Against Lopez [27], the American was seven points away from defeat serving at 4-all (30/15) in the 2nd set. At the beginning of that set (2:1) there was an hour delay due to rain. After the resumption Lopez couldn’t serve again like a machine. “It goes without saying that this is a dream come true,” Blake told the crowd. “I couldn’t have thought of anything better than winning a tournament in my home state.”

Blake’s route to his 2nd title:
    1 Michael Llodra 6-1, 6-4
    2 Filippo Volandri 6-1, 6-3
    3 Tommy Haas 1-6, 6-3, 6-3
    Q Juan Ignacio Chela 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-3
    S Victor Hanescu 7-6(4), 6-7(3), 6-1
    W Feliciano Lopez 3-6, 7-5, 6-1
