  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: [ 44-38, 26-18 ]
Points won directly behind the serve:
    37 % Pouille – 22 of 59
    26 % Thiem – 18 of 67

Very interesting 1st set of the final between two young players: 23-year-old Thiem [10] and one year younger Pouille [18]. The Frenchman squandered 3 set points at 5:4 to save a mini-set point at 5-all with an ace out-wide. In the tie-break the Austrian led 4:0 & 5:2*, but lost five straight points. Pouille became the first man born in 1994 to win an ATP title as he fired a curved ace down the T on his first match point. “I’m very happy with my week,” said Pouille. “Winning a title is a big step, it’s an objective I wanted to achieve this year. It was a well-played final. We both played at a high level.”

Pouille’s route to his maiden title (39th main-level event):
    2 Pierre-Hugues Herbert 6-4, 6-7(6), 6-4
    Q Julien Benneteau 7-6(2), 4-6, 6-3
    S David Goffin 7-6(6), 6-1
    W Dominic Thiem 7-6(5), 6-2

    # Pouille blew a match point in the tie-break vs Herbert to be 8 points away from defeat serving at 4-all in the 3rd set
