A chilly, rainy day (15°C) and Djokovic extended his lead in H2H against Berdych to quite overwhelming 19-2 after a 2-hour 42-minute, rather ugly final. The Czech led 3:1* in the opener to lose four straight games. Djokovic won a game to lead 3:2 in the 2nd set having saved a triple break point when the match was suspended for 73 minutes because of rain. After the resumption Berdych fought off a break point and took three games in a row. In the deciding set, Djokovic led *4:0 (30-all), then Berdych had a break point to erase the double-break disadvantage. “I left him a big gap in the third set,” said Berdych. “That was the decider, definitely. It was really just about a couple of points that didn’t go my way. He defended them very well…” The Serbian becomes the first man to win first three ‘Masters 1000’ events of the season…. Between 1st set vs AHM & 2nd set vs Cilic, Djokovic won 15 straight games (7 & 8 respectively)!
