   Quite surprisingly Noah has never defeated Edberg in their six meetings, he was the closest in New York ’86 during their ’round robin’ match. In the 3rd set the Frenchman had a match point on Edberg’s second serve at 6:5, but the Swede responded to it getting three points in a row with volley winners. In the ensuing tie-break he built a 5:2* advantage to win it 7/4 # Because of the loss, Noah was already eliminated before his third group match. He’s one of the best Open Era players to never play a Masters semifinal (four appearances).

   # Edberg edged 5-2 in their tie-breaks, but three times it were tie-breaks that weighted more
