  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 30-37, 26-14, 26-17 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    23 % Srichaphan – 18 of 77
    19 % Chela – 14 of 73

In the second half of 2002, Srichaphan [41] was more active than anyone else and jumped from no. 67 to 16. One week after advancing to his first ATP final (Washington), he claimed his maiden title. Chela [26] held eight times in a row without any trouble and then, as he trailed *2:3 (15/30) there was a very long rally, consisting of 36 strokes, the Thai won it with a forehand passing-shot and the momentum shifted. Before the last game, he changed his shirt from white to red one. It worked like an injection of energy, he won the first two points in an impressive style, and the intimidated Chela committed a double fault trying to save the second match point. “It gives me a lot of confidence,” Srichaphan said. “If I can keep my confidence and consistency in tennis, I can beat anybody. I really wanted to win my first title. I missed it last week and I didn’t want to feel it again”

Srichaphan’s route to his maiden title (58th main-level event):
    1 Fernando Meligeni 6-1, 6-3
    2 Nicolas Lapentti 7-6(6), 7-5
    3 Bohdan Ulihrach 6-4, 6-1
    Q Younes El Aynaoui 5-7, 6-3, 6-4
    S Tommy Haas w/o
    W Juan Ignacio Chela 5-7, 6-2, 6-2

    Serve & volley: both 0
