  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 24-11, 34-20 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    44 % Querrey – 22 of 49
    10 % Berankis – 4 of 40

Berankis [141] became the first Lithuanian to enter an ATP final & the second “Baltic player” following footsteps of Gulbis of Latvia. He’d defeated three players in qualies and four others in the main-draw, and what’s interesting he had the toughest match against potentially the easiest opponent as he beat Denis Lajola [595] in the 1R of qualies 6-3, 5-7, 7-5. Too many matches within eight days for the 22-year-old Lithuanian, and in the final he was simply overpowered by a much more experienced opponent, who’d played only three short matches to get to the final. The difference in freshness between them was visible from start to finish – Querrey [57] won the opening nine games in 30 minutes and the first double bagel in an ATP final seemed plausible. Querrey said afterwards: “I feel like I always play well here. I grew up playing in this area and I’m comfortable on this court. It all came together for me this week – especially today. When I was up 6-0 3-0, I knew that I would not just cruise for three more games. I knew there would be some tough moments. I got through some tight points with my serve and won them.”

Querrey’s route to his 7th title (his 3rd LA):
    2 Igor Sijsling 6-2, 6-2
    Q Xavier Malisse 6-2, 3-1 ret.
    S Rajeev Ram 6-3, 7-6(4)
    W Ricardas Berankis 6-0, 6-2
