   Sampras [1] took the 1st set on his sixth set point after a 38-stroke rally (backhand volley winner)! # This is strange to me – although he won 328 tie-breaks in his career (many years later Federer overcame this record), the longest one was “just” 12/10 against Courier [5]. In that 18-minute tie-break, SamPe saved three set points: 5:6, 6:7* & 9:10. “I didn’t think either of us played that great,” Sampras said. “I got lucky. That’s the bottom line.”
