   Florian Mayer belongs to those players who waited very long for their first main-level title. The unorthodox German [24] came to Romania from New York and advanced to his fifth ATP final at the BRD Năstase Țiriac Trophy. The beginning against Andujar [43] didn’t indicate that Mayer would win his first title. The Spaniard led 3:1 (40/15) as he committed a double fault and completely lost his game-plan losing 11 out of the next 12 games! The 28-year-old Mayer admitted to being nervous and finding it hard to sleep the night before the final. “I wanted to win so badly” the Bucharest champion said.
