  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 30-20, 28-36, 43-36 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    41 % Isner – 41 of 100
    31 % Clement – 29 of 92

The 24-year-old Isner [33] clinched his maiden title at the Heineken Open after a 2-hour 19-minute encounter against 8 years older Clement [67] for whom it was 11th and last final (4-7 record). “I would rather win that game like I did than if I had won it to love,” said Isner about his last service game. “It gave me a lot of confidence to play pretty much a flawless tie-break.” Clement had a match point in that game, but Isner erased it with an overhead behind a serve-and-volley 5-stroke action.

Isner’s route to his maiden title (43rd main-level event):
    1 Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-2
    2 Juan Monaco 5-7, 6-4, 6-3
    Q Tommy Robredo 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-4
    S Albert Montanes 6-2, 7-6(5)
    W Arnaud Clement 6-3, 5-7, 7-6(2) – 1 m.p.

    # Isner was four points away from defeat in the first round & trailed *1:3 in the 3rd set of his quarter-final match
