  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 34-25, 27-17, 48-45 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    27 % Alcaraz – 26 of 95
    24 % Djokovic – 25 of 101

A repeat of last year’s final. The 37-year-old Djokovic [2] advanced to his 10th Wimbledon final easier than Alcaraz [3], but the Spaniard is 16 years Djokovic’s junior, thus I expected the best version of himself in the final after a day off. He won the toss and elected to receive – the first game was the longest, 7 deuces, Alcaraz converted his 5th break point, and it set the tone for the rest of the final. Djokovic was always one step too slow to keep the same pace with his much younger opponent, whose forehand was phenomenal. The Serb increased the speed and accuracy of his serve in the 3rd set, yet Alcaraz broke him at at 4-all having saved a break point at 2:3. Alcaraz led 6-2, 6-2, 5:4 (40/0) – a shocking scoreline against the greatest player of the Open Era, it looked like the easiest match in the fortnight for the super gifted man from Murcia. Alcaraz probably didn’t expect it would be so easy, and he lost his focus, five points in succession in the blink of an eye. Trailing *5:6 he kept his composure though, held at ‘love’ and won the tie-break quite comfortably forcing Djokovic’s error off the second serve on the fourth match point. “It is a dream for me, winning this trophy,” said Alcaraz at the trophy ceremony. “In an interview when I was 11 or 12 years old I said my dream was to win Wimbledon, so I am repaying my dream. I want to keep going but it is a great feeling to play in this beautiful court and to lift this amazing trophy. This is the most beautiful tournament, most beautiful court and most beautiful trophy.”

Alcaraz’s route to his 15th title:
    1 Mark Lajal 7-6(3), 7-5, 6-2
    2 Aleksandar Vukic 7-6(5), 6-2, 6-2
    3 Frances Tiafoe 5-7, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6(2), 6-2
    4 Ugo Humbert 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5
    Q Tommy Paul 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2
    S Daniil Medvedev 6-7(1), 6-3, 6-4, 6-4
    W Novak Djokovic 6-2, 6-2, 7-6(4)

    Serve & volley: Alcaraz 3/6, Djokovic 7/10

Alcaraz 5 points away to be beaten by Tiafoe, there was 0/30 on his serve at 4-all in the 4th set; in the tie-break he jumped to a comfortable 5:0* lead
