   Points won directly behind the serve:
   30 % Laver – 30 of 99
   32 % Ashe – 32 of 100

   Laver improved his record against five years younger Ashe to 4:0, in the end it was 20-3… There were four breaks of serve in the crucial 3rd set before its prolonging, from 7-all the Australian managed to win 8 games in a row (Ashe had only one point to snap the streak).
