   Very quick match which was surprising because either player had already defeated the other one. Nothing had indicated it’d be so one-sided until Ivanisevic [10] led 3:2 in the opener. He needed four deuces to hold the first two games, and then he won 10 out of 11 games. The last one was the longest – six deuces. Two years later in the same event (yet moved from Stockholm to Essen for one edition only) Washington [33] plays another semifinal with a more positive outcome.
