   The battle of two Swedes playing in similar styles. The seven years younger, better serving and much fitter Enqvist [12], almost totally destroyed his compatriot. Enqvist won seven straight games and led 4:0* (40/15) in the 2nd set when Gustafsson [28] finally appeared on the scoreboard with the help of a net-cord. Enqvist needed six match points to finish the contest with an ace. One year later on the same court, yet in the third round, they meet again, and Enqvist drops just five games again (6-1, 6-4).
